Dr. Roman Burk is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon and is the president of Rocky Mountain Foot & Ankle. Dr. Burk grew up in Idaho and loves calling it home. He is a graduate of Borah High School and holds a Bachelors of Science from Brigham Young University. He completed his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Temple University in Philadelphia Pennsylvania in 2004. Following completion of his 3-year surgical residency in South Bend Indiana- working with the team physicians for the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Burk returned home to Idaho. He is double board certified in both Foot Surgery as well as Ankle and Reconstructive Rear-foot Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He has been in private practice since 2007 and in 2011, he joined Rocky Mountain Foot and Ankle.
“I was drawn towards foot and ankle as a specialty because of its diversity. I enjoy the variety it provides in challenging me on a daily basis. I see a wide range of medical issues from sports medicine injuries to treating deformities—pediatrics to geriatrics—dermatology to radiology. Foot and ankle issues cover such a broad spectrum that it challenges you every day to be your best.”
Dr. Burk is passionate about providing the very best care to his patients from the moment they enter our offices.
Dr. Burk considers one of his greatest responsibilities to his patients to be a teacher. “So often in today’s health care, patients are given a treatment plan but not an explanation of what their diagnosis is or what it means to them in the long run. I think physicians owe their patients the time and communication to help them understand their problem and arrive at a treatment plan that they can follow through with.” Dr. Burk pays special attention to making certain that his patients understand their diagnosis and their treatment plan to create the best environment for them to get better.
An avid skier and mountain climber, Dr. Burk enjoys time with his family and friends playing in the great outdoors. He frequently is found taking his boys on large climbs throughout Idaho and has a goal of summiting all of the US 50 high points (the tallest peak in each state). He is also passionate about youth sports and when he is not working, he loves coaching his two competitive boys soccer teams for the club soccer organization he founded- The Idaho Storm. Dr. Burk expects that the day will come when he has to slow down…and when it does- he’ll get more serious about golf.

Dr. Burk is knowledgeable and takes the time to explain in detail the process and causes of the issues I was having. We game planned a non-invasive treatment approach and when the time for surgery came, he was thorough and helped set my mind at ease. He's also very personable and funny making the overall experience better.

I enjoyed my appointment today at Rocky Mountain Foot and Ankle in Meridian. Staff at the front desk were fun and knowledgeable. The attendant that took me back to the room and also took my x-rays was excellent... Dr. Reed did excellent job of listening to me and my wife and he also asked many questions to get a better understanding of my concerns and my level of health and also did a very good job of understanding my pain. I highly recommend the Meridian Office to any and all patients for a complete and enjoyable experience.

Dr Burk Is one of the best doctors I’ve ever dealt with. He takes the time to ask you questions, do a thorough diagnosis and actually explain in plain terms what the issue is and how he is going to treat it . He doesn’t just say here’s your problem let’s throw some medication at it and be on your way. As I’ve grown older, I’ve had some foot issues and with Dr. Burk’s help the problems have gone away and my quality of life has improved greatly.
